Deacs Offer 2016 Wing De'Riante Jenkins

Danny Manning continued to peruse the 2016 recruiting class, this time offering a 6'6 wing in De'Riante Jenkins.

Coach Danny Manning has offered another player in the 2016 class, this time extending a scholarship to 6'6 wing De'Riante Jenkins. Jenkins plays at West Oaks Academy (FL), and already holds offers from several high major programs, including: Charlotte, Clemson, Indiana, and Virginia Tech.

He is considered the 82nd best player in the country according to 247Sports.com, and the 62nd best player in the country according to Scout.com. Prior to today he had two Crystal Ball predictions, both to Clemson.

Interestingly enough, in 2012 he was considered one of the better 9th grade quarterback prospects in the country, gaining looks from Clemson and Notre Dame.

Jenkins recently re-classified from the 2015 to 2016, and is considered one of the best transition wings in the country. At 6'6, 175, one can assume that he will continue to put weight on his frame and become a bigger body to deal with.

He has received a lot of interest recently after having a very good Pangos AA Camp last weekend. Indiana offered during the tournament, and inevitably he also stood out to Coach Manning and the rest of the Deacon staff.

Based on the videos that I was able to find online (see below), he has a very good handle, really good athleticism, and is definitely not shy about expressing his emotions to opponents. It was also refreshing to see him hit some threes, although it's always difficult to figure out consistency in these videos.

Currently the Deacs have a commitment from Brandon Childress, but as the rest of the staff has done an excellent job covering, have a great chance at some elite talent for the '16 class. De'Riante Jenkins would be a good addition to the class.
