The Cal Golden Bears led the whole way as they beat the No. 14 North Carolina Tar Heels, 84-78. John Camden, Dai Dai Ames, and Justin Pippen did most of the damage on offense for the Bears, while Lee Dort did a great job patrolling the paint. Camden came out of the gate on fire, scoring 16 of his 20 points before halftime, shooting 7-14 from the floor, including 4-8 from three-point range. Ames scored 19 points on 8-14 shooting, including 3-5 from deep, while Pippen finished with 19 points on 5-8 shooting and 3-4 from behind the arc. Caleb Wilson led the Heels with 17 points, while Henri Veesaar and Derek Dixon each added 14 points in the loss.
