Let's continue our series with Virginia Tech Football.

Best / Worse Case Record for :

Louisville Virginia | Miami | Duke | Georgia Tech | Clemson | Florida State | Pittsburgh | NC State | Boston College | Syracuse | North Carolina | Wake Forest

Virginia Tech
Justin Fuente came to Virginia Tech, and many felt he would make the Hokies a big winner in short order. Fuente has the Hokies ahead of schedule winning 10 games in year 1 including a stirring comeback bowl win over Arkansas. The offense had more life in it than we’d seen at Virginia Tech in years. How far can Fuente take the Hokies? Virginia Tech looks set to be an ACC Coastal contender and maybe more for awhile.

Will Go 11-1 (7-1) if:
Josh Jackson lives up to expectations at QB. Fuente knows how to handle quarterbacks, and if he can get Jackson to play well – watch out. The Hokies could be a darkhorse playoff team. The defensive line will have some inexperience, but the back 7 will be solid. Bud Foster still handles the defense, so you know it is in good hands.

If the Hokies get by West Virginia in game 1, they could start the year 4-0, setting up a monster matchup with Clemson. There’s a game at Miami as well, but the Hokies will be favored in most of their of the games.

Will Go 8-4 (5-3) if:
The Hokies have a couple of slip up games like last season. The Hokies had a great season last year, but there were a couple of head scratching losses to Syracuse and at home to Georgia Tech. It’s hard to say if this was due to the Hokies learning how to win or if this will be a problem in the future. It only takes a couple of surprising losses to go with losses in games with West Virginia, Clemson, and at Miami and the Hokies suddenly have 4 or 5 losses.

If Josh Jackson struggles early the Hokies will have problems moving the ball. They lost a lot of talent on offense. How will they handle that?
