Virginia
Last year Virginia got off to promising 4-2 start only to lose 5 of their last 6 games. That finish cost them a bowl bid, and extended their over decade long losing streak to in-state rival Virginia Tech. It also looked like it would cost Mike London his job. London is back, but his seat is the hottest one in the ACC.

Will Go 7-5 (5-3) if:
The offense can find any kind of identity. QB Matt Johns looks like he will be starter after Greyson Lambert left for UGA, but will he have enough help? For years I’ve been wondering how to describe the Cavalier’s offense, and the word that comes to mind is “bland”. They don’t stretch the field, and they can’t run the ball. If there is even slight improvement, then the defense which has some talent can keep Virginia in a lot of games. There’s games against UCLA, Notre Dame, and Boise State. If the Cavaliers can steal one of those then they could have a shot a at a bowl game.

Will Go 2-10 (1-7) if:
The Cavaliers start the season 1-4… In their first 5 games, the Cavaliers face UCLA, Notre Dame, Boise State and Pittsburgh. A 1-4 start is a very real possibility, then what? London is already on the hotseat. If the defense starts struggling, the offense is not capable of carrying the load for UVA on its own. The Hoos haven’t won more than 5 games since 2011, so this isn’t a team used to winning. A couple of early losses couldn’t result in a long losing streak.
