It didn't feel like a great night for the ACC as Notre Dame lost at home to Ball State (see below) and Virginia lost on the road to a quality West Virginia team. Miami was tied at half against against Boston University without an injured Bruce Brown, but Lonnie Walker carried the Canes with 26 points. It took Pitt overtime to dispatch Mount St. Mary's.
It wasn't all bad though, Syracuse beat UConn by 9 in the Garden. Duke scored 124 points in the process of obliterating St. Francis (PA). Wake Forest bounced back with a second straight impressive performance, this time beating Charlotte by 23.

Ball State shocked No. 9 Notre Dame Tuesday night in South Bend. Taylor Persons hit a 3-pointer with 1.7 seconds left that put the Cardinals up 80-77. That score would hold up as Ball State upset a top-25 team for the first time since beating UCLA more than 16 years ago.
