Danny Manning and the staff land second commitment for 2018

Wake Forest basketball has landed 5 star forward Jaylen Hoard for the class of 2018.

Hoard is Danny Manning’s first five star recruit, and the first for the Deacs since Al-Farouq Aminu in 2008.

Landing Hoard is huge for Wake, as it opens the door for future big-time recruit commitments.

According to ESPN, Hoard is a 5 star recruit, ranked 19th overall in the country, the 5th best small forward in the country, and the top SF in North Carolina.

Hoard committed to the Deacs over offers from Maryland, California, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Providence, and Washington.

Below is a highlight video, showing just how much of a strong addition to the class Hoard can be:

Hoard is the second commit in the class of 2018, joining combo guard Sharone Wright Jr.

Wake Forest is still looking to land remaining top targets forward Isaiah Mucius, forward Nate Laszewski, and point guard Mike Devoe. The commitment of Hoard may have just made that task a little easier.

Look for a followup article later on on what this means for Wake, but for now know that this is the biggest commitment Wake Forest has had in any sport in the past decade! GO DEACS!!!
