NC State picked up a late addition to the class of 2017 today when it was announced that Braxton Beverly will be joining the Pack.

Beverly is a 5'11" PG that had previously committed to Ohio State, but reopened his commitment after Thad Matta announced his resignation.  Beverly played for Hargrave Military Academy and averaged 20.1 points per game in his senior season.  Here's more from GoPack.com.

The sharp-shooting guard set the Hargrave post-graduate single game scoring record with 70 points in the Tigers' 131-86 win over Genesis Academy on February 12, 2016. Beverly connected on 14-of-20 three-pointers in the game and added six assists, four rebounds and four steals.

Since its 2017, we of course have highlights from that 70 point effort.

Beverly is a 3 star recruit, according to Rivals, so don't look for Beverly to get major minutes next season.  Most of Beverly's other interest came from mid-majors before he committed to Ohio State back in November.  Beverly's ability to shoot the ball may help him find a niche if he can hold his own defensively.  All in all, to be able to find a guy that could give serviceable minutes this late in the game, it could be a considered a minor win for Kevin Keatts.
