North Carolina basketball is hoping to make waves in the class of 2019.

On the same day that the North Carolina men’s basketball program offered a scholarship to the No. 1 player in the class of 2019, it also offered one to the No. 2-rated player in the class.

James Wiseman, a 6-foot-11, 210-pound power forward out of Nashville, Tennessee, received the Tar Heels’ eighth scholarship offer for the class of 2019. The Tar Heels have offered five players in the class over the past week, three of them being 6-foot-9 or taller.

Clearly, Roy Williams and the North Carolina coaching staff have prioritized post players in the upcoming recruiting classes, having recently offered multiple scholarships to big men in both the 2018 and 2019 classes.

Clint Jackson of Tar Heel Illustrated stated that Wiseman is a talented big man with tremendous upside. Jackson lauded Wiseman’s length, as well as his ability to run, jump and finish at the rim. He also likes the big man’s jump shot from short to mid-range.

Along with North Carolina, Wiseman holds offers from a number of big name programs including Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Tennessee, Texas and Vanderbilt, among others.

Wiseman reportedly has interest in Kentucky and Duke, the latter of which is heading up his recruitment with assistant coach Jon Scheyer.

Wiseman, a junior at Ensworth High School, is the No. 2 player in the 2019 class according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s the No. 2 power forward in the class and the top player in the state of Tennessee.

Stick with Keeping It Heel as things continue to heat up on the recruiting trail and we move closer to the start of the 2017-18 college basketball season.
