Avery Edwards, a tight end from Ravenscroft High School in Raleigh, NC and UNC signee has been arrested on charges of felony larceny jeopardizing his career in Chapel Hill before it starts.

A teen was charged with felony larceny after investigators say he stole more than $50,000 worth of jewelry from an acquaintance.
Wake County sheriff’s deputies charged Avery Hayden Edwards, 18, of Wakefalls Drive with taking five watches and one pair of diamond stud earrings valued at $53,000, according to an arrest warrant filed Thursday at the Wake County Magistrate’s Office.
Deputies said the theft occurred May 23, and they obtained a warrant for Edwards’ arrest Tuesday, court records show.
In an effort to garner a lower bail, his attorney, David Venable of Raleigh, submitted a letter that indicated Edwards was not a flight risk and did not pose a danger to the community. Venable said Edwards had turned himself in to authorities, returned the missing items to the owner, was a life-long Wake County resident and was living with his parents before enrolling in college this fall.
Inside Carolina has a statement from the family expressing regret his Edwards' action saying the items have been returned to the owner and apologized.
Edwards was ranked 51st among tight ends by Scout.com and one of two tight ends in Larry Fedora's 2014 class.
No word from UNC on Edwards' status with the football team. In all likelihood, Fedora will wait to see how the legal situation pans out before taking any action.
