Class of 2019 UNC target Wendell Moore discusses his recruitment and his high school teammate Rechon Black

The North Carolina Tar Heels already have two players signed to their 2018 basketball recruiting class in guards Rechon Black and Coby White.  Both participated in the annual Peach Jam for Team CP3 last week in South Carolina.

The two came up short in the tournament, going 1-4 in their five round robin games.

But a potential future teammate was also there and took home some hardware for Team CP3 E16 team.

Class of 2019 recruit Wendell Moore helped lead the Team CP3 E16 team to the title on Sunday afternoon by scoring 16 points in the championship game.

Moore was greeted by Chris Paul who was on hand to watch his program play.

Following the semifinal game in South Carolina, 247 Sports The Devil’s Den caught up with Moore to talk about his recruiting.

The Duke site, spoke with Moore for a few minutes as they asked Moore about the tournament, his junior year of high school and what he has in store for the rest of the summer.

But some interesting notes came from the interview.

Moore was asked about Black returning to Cox Mill High School for his senior year, making the announcement just a few weeks ago.

The news is significant because they will be teammates for another year. That brings up the question of is Black helping recruit Moore?

He answers that question at about the 1:40 mark in the video:

He noted that Theo Pinson, who was at the Peach Jam, talks to Moore as well. Moore went on to say that UNC checks in on him alot.

The No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina isn’t only hearing from the Tar Heels.

Moore states that schools like Wake Forest, NC State, Duke, Kentucky, Louisville and more are also interested in him.

He’s currently rated as a four-star composite recruit according to 247 Sports but if the forward continues to play like this, his stock will certainly rise.
