*I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this game yet, aside from the fact that Boston College could have won. North Carolina wasn’t anywhere near as good as the team we saw in Boston a few weeks ago, and that non-call on the offensive goaltending was bad, but there were far too many stretches of offensive pants-wetting which made this defeat possible.
*It was a nice effort to come back, but nice efforts don’t count for much if you lose. We all had this one penciled in as a loss I think, but BC’s lack of signature wins (aside from Texas A&M) is starting to hurt them now.
*This probably makes it necessary for BC to have to win out, with special attention to the Virginia Tech game. That has become a must-win for both teams.
*Very disappointing outcome, and there’s no doubt we’re in trouble, but I don’t know how much has really changed with this loss, seeing as how it was an expected loss. I’m not sure what the committee will think about how BC played in this game, though they probably won’t be impressed, but if your goal was to see BC at least lose close, then you got your wish. Whether or not that actually helps us is another matter.
*Making the NIT would be an improvement for this team, if we fail to make the tournament. I wouldn’t be excited about it — or really care for that matter — but an improvement.
