The three biggest ACC football questions of the week. Here we go for Week 11.
Is Virginia on upset alert against Wake Forest?
Last week, I said Virginia might be on upset alert, and the Hoos won the road at Cal. This week against and at times a feisty Wake Forest, I see no upset. I think Virginia at home is going to look like a playoff team, and this might get really ugly.
Is Louisville on upset alert against Cal?
Cal and their star freshman QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele should always be paid attention, but I’m not seeing an upset in this one either. Louisville at home is going to do much like Virginia and will look like a playoff team in this one. I just get the feeling that both Virginia and Louisville, with the eye on Charlotte, are going to focus both teams into some of their best performances of the year.
What’s on the line for Clemson vs Florida State this weekend?
Early in the season, this looked like a massive matchup, but both schools’ free-fall has left this game an afterthought. These schools have one thing to play for – pride. Even with a win, Clemson will be just 4-5 and still fighting for a bowl game. FSU isn’t much better if they win at 5-4. Both teams have shown flashes, especially FSU with that Alabama win, and Clemson at times against opponents like LSU, Georgia Tech, and Duke, before dropping those games. There should be a lot of pride in this one, and maybe the winner can salvage something out of a lost season.
