Syracuse's starting quarterback will be sidelined for an unknown period of time as he is recovering from a fractured fibula suffered in Friday's loss to Louisville.

Syracuse Orange starting quarterback Terrel Hunt will be out 4-6 weeks as he fractured his fibula, head coach Scott Shafer announced Monday in a press release. It is expected the Orange will turn to sophomore quarterback Austin Wilson for this Saturday's showdown with the visiting Florida State Seminoles (Noon on ESPN).

Hunt suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of Orange's loss to the Louisville Cardinals, 28-6, on Friday. The redshirt sophomore was tackled late in the contest, had his ankle rolled under a player and then was helped off the field. Wilson took over command of he offense when Hunt left the field, though, Shafer and new offensive coordinator Tim Lester could turn to freshmen Mitch Kimble or AJ Long, though, that is not expected.

If Hunt can return in the four-week period he could return for Syracuse's contest against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, Nov. 8. However, it is more likely he will return after a bye week when the Orange travel to the Pittsburgh Panthers, Nov. 22.
