A whole lot of bad weather on the East Coast is causing disruptions to sporting events and more.

Yesterday, SB Nation's Virginia blog, Streaking the Lawn, wondered if this Saturday's game between the Hoos and Syracuse Orange would be affected by the incoming blizzard on the East Coast.

Ends up it was. The ACC announced today that the game will postponed from Saturday, January 23.

Luckily, it won't move too far. instead of tipping off at noon ET at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, we'll be doing so the following day, January 24, at 7 p.m. ET. It'll appear on ESPN2. It was originally slated to appear on ESPN.

The extra day of rest has the chance to help out both teams gain some additional rest and bring fresh legs to the court come Sunday. Virginia (14-4, 3-3) last played on Tuesday vs. Clemson. Syracuse (13-7, 3-4), as you're well aware, last suited up on Monday night vs. Duke.

So if you're on the East Coast this weekend, stay safe with the weather issues and hopefully you've got something to do on Saturday to fill the time. Safe travels to the Syracuse basketball team as well, whose plans have also likely been altered a little bit this weekend.
