Game Recap

Next victim.

While all the #Disloyal idiots were watching Kentucky take on Michigan State, Syracuse played host to Holy Cross at home. This game was never in doubt for the Orange as it took care of business 90-46.

Andrew White had the hot hand early in the contest, connecting on four first half threes. Tyler Lydon warmed up two and half hours prior to tipoff and while he didn’t knock down a jump-shot in the first half, he had a few nice drives and put-backs to pace the Orange giving it a 49-23 lead at half.

In the early going of the second half Lydon was able to connect on his first three of the season. He followed that up with another triple from the corner to extend Syracuse’s margin.

With the game getting away from Holy Cross, Jim Boeheim elected to experiment with man-to-man defense. The Orange stayed in man — sans an out of bounds play and walk on time — until the final buzzer.

White led Syracuse in scoring again with 19 points on 50 percent shooting from downtown. He hauled in three boards and dished out three assists all the while knocking down all four of his free-throw attempts.

Syracuse had five players score in double figures as the Orange shot 60 percent from the floor and 54.2 percent from outside. Lydon finished with 17 while Gillon added 15 and 9 assists off the bench.

Syracuse hosts Monmouth on Friday. Same time, same place.
