The #22 Mustangs pulled away late to get a 34-24 win over Missouri State. Due to some of their own mistakes, SMU only had a three-point lead with under six minutes to go. Kevin Jennings threw the 77th and 78th touchdown passes of his career to grow the lead, and that all put him alone in first place on SMU's all-time touchdown leader list. Jennings finished the game with 464 yards and three touchdowns on 33 of 39 passing. He also had a rushing touchdown. Wide receiver Yamir Knight caught 11 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Jalen Cooper caught eight passes for 125 yards. Running back Kendrick Raphael ran the ball 23 times for 98 yards and a touchdown, and he had four catches for 48 yards.
