Shaqquan Aaron will remain at Louisville

A highly-touted recruit receiving limited playing time in his freshman season is always going to drum up rumors of a transfer, but Shaqquan Aaron says he plans on spending his sophomore season at Louisville.

"He told me he loves it here (and) wants to get better," Rick Pitino told The Courier-Journal.

Despite being the most highly-touted member of Pitino's recruiting class of 2014, Aaron averaged just 7.2 minutes and 1.3 points per game while being stuck behind senior Wayne Blackshear on the Cardinal depth chart. He was forced to sit out the first 9 games of the season after the NCAA ruled that his parents accepted illegal benefits to pay for housing during his freshman year of high school.

With Blackshear graduating and Anton Gill choosing to leave the program on his own accord, Aaron would seem to have the inside track on sliding into a starting role at the 3 in his sophomore season, but it likely won't happen without a great deal of work on his part. Here's hoping that occurs.
