C.J. Fair will get a shot at playing on the world stage for Team USA this summer, as he has been invited to training camp to compete for a roster spot for the Men's University World Games held in Russia.

Fair, who is easily Syracuse's top returning player heading into the 2013-14 season, will attend training camp, June 24-30, in Colorado Springs and try to beat out other collegiate forwards like Creighton's Doug McDermott, Louisville Luke Hancock, Marquette's Deonte Burton, Stanford's Josh Huestis, Baylor's Cory Jefferson and Indiana's Will Sheehey, who were all invited as well.

Other players going to try out are: Notre Dame's Eric Atkins and Jerian Grant; Oklahoma State's Markel Brown; Nevada's Deonte Burton; Duke's Quinn Cook; Providence's Bryce Cotton; Colorado's Spencer Dinwiddie; Indiana's Yogi Ferrell; Marquette's Davante Gardner; VCU's Treveon Graham; UNC's P.J. Hairston; Purdue's A.J. Hammons; Viginia's Joe Harris; BYU's Tyler Haws; Minnesota's Andre Hollins; Duke's Rodney Hood; Cincinnati's Sean Kilpatrick; New Mexico's Alex Kirk; Iowa's Devyn Marble; Michigan State's Adreian Payne; Stanford's Chasson Randle; Iowa's Aaron White and New Mexico's Kendall Williams.

"The committee has assembled one of the strongest World University Games training camp rosters USA Basketball has ever had," said Jim Boeheim, head coach at Syracuse University and chair of the USA Men’s Junior National Team Committee. "It includes some of the top players in college basketball, several of whom have international experience. Selecting the players for the final roster is going to be a real challenge."

Davidson College head coach Bob McKillop will lead the team in July 7-16 in Kazan, Russia, though, the coach that will probably have the most influence on whether Fair will make the team or not will be Team USA assistant John Beilein, who's main job is coaching Michigan, which had a hard time stopping the SU forward in the national semifinals a few months back.

Good luck to C.J. on making the team, because come July it would be nice to have something to write about.
