Special Teams our are final ACC player rankings. I hope you’ve enjoyed the series and got to know some of the better players in the ACC 2013. I’ll be previewing the teams in the next few weeks. On to ACC’s best special team’s players. This is one the deepest years I can remember for the ACC in terms of great return men. I’m going to do something a little different with this rankings. Less talk more video!

Previous Rankings

Quarterbacks  | Running Backs | Wide Receivers | Tight Ends | Offensive Linemen | Defensive Linemen | Linebackers | Cornerbacks | Safeties

1) Stephon Diggs, Maryland

Who was the ACC’s preseason’s Special Teams player of the year? It is Maryland’s Stephon Diggs. Diggs ranked in the top 5 in the ACC in punt return and kickroff return average. He had 103 yard Kickoff return against Virginia. Check out the video below of one of the ACC’s most explosive players.

2) Duke Johnson, Miami

Duke Johnson had a sensational freshman year, not only at running back, but also as a kickoff returner. He led the ACC and finished with the country’s 2nd best Kickoff return average with a whopping 33 yards a return. Here’s a big return for Johnson, against Virginia again. Cavs need to work on that.

3) Jamal Golden, Georgia Tech

You may be able to make an argument that Jamal Golden of Georgia Tech should at the top of this list. A game breaking return man is something the Jackets have lacked for years until Golden. He was the only ACC player to rank in the top 3 in Kickoff and Punt Return average.

4) Rashad Greene, Florida State

That Rashad Greene is 4th here speaks to the quality of kick returners in the ACC. Greene finished 2nd last year in the ACC in punt return average. He had 2 punt returns for Touchdowns last year.

5) Chandler Catanzaro, Clemson

Maybe you are asking how did I leave Sammy Watkins out of these rankings. You have 4 elite returners already and how do I leave off the kicker that led the ACC in FG percentage making 18 of 19? The biggest kick of his career is about 55 seconds into the below video.
