Power 5 Conference slogans for the 2017 season

What happens on the field isn’t as important as #BRAND...to some people anyway

Syracuse Orange fans are glad that all the talking has stopped and the football season has begun. While we welcome the start of pre-season camp, which means we’ve finally moved on from media days and all that #BRAND talk. When it comes to slogans for commercials or social media, it’s obvious that the Power 5 conferences could always use some marketing help. That’s where we come in. The firm of #JokesandGarbage is always ready to give our unsolicited opinions to others, so here we go.

We’ll start with the ACC, which hasn’t rolled out a catchy slogan despite being the home of the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and defending National Champions.

“The Champs Are Here” The ACC is crazy if they don’t remind the CFB world that the conference had the College Football Playoffs winner last season. Added bonus is that Clemson Tigers fans will complain when the slogan is used for the basketball and men’s tennis seasons.

“The Miami Hurricanes are back....maybe?” The top four projected ACC teams from Bill C are in the Atlantic Division. How much easier can the ACC try to make it for The U to win a title (or at least make an ACC Championship Game for once).

“Notre Dame isn’t part of our 4ootb8ll league” I make an exception to my stop inserting numbers where letters should go because making fun of ND’s 2016 season is something we should all do.

SEC

“Where did all our good coaches go?” Remember when the SEC had the best group of coaches in the country....take away Saban and they might have the worst collection of the P5.

“We should have added Louisville”- The Cardinals do have the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and they could have prepared the SEC for dealing with an escort situation

“#2ndplacemeansjustasmuchas1st” We have to get our shots in when we can folks.

Pac 12

“Conference of Champions in sports that most of you don’t care about”- I love Bill Walton and olympic sports as much as anyone, but this is the more accurate slogan. Kudos to the PAC 12 marketing folks for leaving out Clemson’s title from the ACC total because the CFP isn’t technically a NCAA Championship.

“USC is Back.....we hope” - Nothing against Washington, but the return of the USC Trojans is something the PAC 12 is certainly hoping to see.

“Katie Ledecky can beat all your swimmers” You can’t really debate this one, which is hard to do when you come up with a slogan.

Big 12

“Coaches with the best hair, coach here”- All thanks to the Gundy mullet.

“Stoopless in Norman” How will the Oklahoma Sooners respond without Big Game Bob on the sidelines?

#OneTrueChampion....no, really we mean it this time - the Big 12 is bringing back their Championship Game and there’s no way that decision won’t backfire on them, right?

Big 10

“We don’t understand our divisions either”- Legends, Leaders, East, West. Call them what you want, but putting Penn St, Michigan and Ohio St in the same division is just dumb.

“Straight Cash Homie”- Rutgers and Purdue might not win a lot of games, but with the money they pull in from the conference, the admins at those schools might not care too much.

“MNGA”- Make Nebraska Great Again. The Huskers won 94 games in 7 seasons under Bo Pellini and that still got him fired. No pressure Mike Riley, but hey at least you get to play in the easier of the two divisions.

This is when we turn it over to you for your suggestions. Drop your #Brand ideas in the comments because we know that what happens on the field is only slightly more important than what happens online.
