Louisville fans understandably thought the worst as they watched James Quick being carted off the field on Saturday after suffering an injury that left him unable to put any pressure at all on his right foot or leg. Thankfully, it sounds as though Quick will be back on the field at some point this season.

During Bobby Petrino's Monday afternoon that he's "not real encouraged" by Quick's injury, but that it is a severely sprained ankle and not an achilles or knee injury as some feared. Still, Petrino says Quick is in a lot of pain and that while there's no timetable for his return, he'll almost certainly be out for this Saturday's game against Houston.

Quick was Louisville's leading returning receiver this season after catching 36 passes for 566 yards and three touchdowns last season. He caught 4 balls for 28 yards before leaving the game against Auburn on Saturday.

Petrino also added that tight end Cole Hikutini, who also left the Auburn game with an injury, will likely be able to play against Houston on Saturday if everything goes according to plan this weekend.
