Game Recap

Louisville got a lift off the bench from freshman forward V.J. King, who helped turn what was a tight game with visiting William & Mary for most of the first half into a 91-58 rout.

King, who played just 17 minutes in the game, scored 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. He also snagged five rebounds for the Cards, who improved to 2-0 on the young season.

"V.J. is getting his confidence because of his thousands of shot attempts," Louisville head coach Rick Pitino joked after the game. "I found out tonight that I can play him and (Deng) Adel on the the court at the same time."

It wasn't a bad evening for Adel either, who scored a career-high 16 points to go along with five rebounds and a game-high five assists. Quentin Snider and Jaylen Johnson each chipped in 13 points, while Ray Spalding added 10 of his own. Mangok Mathiang notched double-digit rebounds for the second straight game, hauling down 10 of them.

Louisville was able to hold William & Mary star Omar Prewitt mostly in check. The Mount Sterling, KY native scored 11 quick points in the first half, but finished with only 14 of 4-of-13 shooting. He also accounted for five of the team's 16 turnovers.
