Georgetown trying everything to get fans to attend Saturday's game vs. Syracuse

Desperate times...

Despite being unbeaten (against an awful schedule) so far this year, the Georgetown Hoyas are still desperate to get fans in the door for this Saturday’s matchup with the Syracuse Orange.

It’s not as if they can’t get excited for the rivalry game. It’s that they have so few fans and such minimal support left for the John Thompson-led cabal that getting anyone but Orange fans to show up at Capital One Arena is a harrowing task.

To fix this, they’ve taken to various promotional items to convince people that yes, the Hoyas do still play basketball.

To recap, the reasons a Georgetown “fan” (should one exist) is supposed to go Saturday’s game:

  • Child endangerment
  • Malnutrition
  • A dog autograph
  • RED PANDA (okay, this one’s actually a pretty excellent reason to go)

There are still a significant number of tickets remaining for this one, though Red Panda was just announced yesterday. Now D.C. residents have TWO reasons to show up: the acrobatic wonder that is Red Panda AND Syracuse basketball.
