(For now), Bracketology predictions still include Pitt

We had some good basketball discussion with Pitt in relations to the NCAA Tournament after the North Carolina game. I wanted to wait until Monday when the latest Bracketology projections dropped, so here we are.

As expected, despite losing their third straight game, the Panthers remain a fixture in the NCAA Tournament projections ... for now. That can change, of course, but if everything ended right now, Pitt looks to be in.

CBS Sports' Jerry Palm is perhaps the highest on the Panthers. Even after the loss, he has them as a No. 8 seed.

USA Today doesn't have them far behind at No. 9.

SB Nation's Blogging the Bracket still has Pitt in, but says they are inching towards the bubble. I fully agree with that, though I'd disagree with their assertion that the Panthers needed yesterday's game. It would have helped but, really, what Pitt needs to do is make sure they get the winnable games left. Winning the toughest game on their schedule wasn't a must have, in my opinion.

ESPN pretty much says they are already there (the bubble, that is) - they have them as a No. 11 seed.

As you can see, that's a pretty wide range of picks with CBS Sports and ESPN disagreeing the most.

Where would I put Pitt right now? Man, I don't know. While Pitt isn't getting votes in the AP poll, the coaches do still give them some credit as they show up at No. 33 overall. I'd probably slot them somewhere around a No. 9 seed, but I'd need to do more homework.

What say you? Weigh in using the poll below.
