Donovan Mitchell Commits To Louisville

The summer's biggest breakout star from the 2015 class is headed to Louisville.  On the first night of his two-day visit to U of L, four-star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell let the world know that he plans to play his college ball for the Cardinals.

Mitchell, who missed last year's summer circuit because of a broken wrist, has made a name for himself as one of the top scorers in the country over the past several weeks. A recent anonymous poll of coaches by Scout.com named the Brewster Academy (NH) star as the most underrated prospect they saw in July.  "Donovan Mitchell is by far the most underrated kid in the country and it's not even close," one of the coaches told Daniels.  Another remarked: "He's really like Dwyane Wade. He was my favorite player all summer."  Mitchell's game will remind Louisville fans of another player who has drawn some comparisons to Dwyane Wade: current Cardinal Terry Rozier. Mitchell has terrific length for his 6'3 frame, and a body that's ready to compete in the ACC right now. His athleticism allows him to be a tremendous driver and finisher, and he has showcased an extremely improved outside shot over the past month.  It's always tough to figure out the future of players, and whether or not they will have any impact on the college basketball futures of their respective teams, but it's clear Mitchell is poised to shine bright at Louisville.

Expect Mitchell to vault up the recruiting rankings over the coming weeks and be a consensus top 30 prospect. He joins Deng Adel and Raymond Spalding in making up what now, with a couple more high-profile additions, could become arguably the best recruiting class Rick Pitino has put together during his time at Louisville.
