In the first-ever meeting between the two programs, the Golden Bears traveled across the country and took the #15 Cardinals into overtime, and the Bears came away with a 29-26 win. On a fourth and four, down by three in overtime, Cal went for the win, and quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele hit wide receiver Jacob De Jesus for a touchdown and the win. Sagapolutele finished the game, completing 30 of 47 passes for 323 yards and two touchdowns. De Jesus had a career night with 16 receptions for 158 yards and a touchdown. Running back Kendrick Rapheal ran the ball 19 times for 83 yards and a touchdown. Louisville quarterback Miller Moss threw for 203 yards on 20-38 passing with a rushing touchdown. Running back Keyjuan Brown ran the ball 14 times for 136 yards.
