We continue our series with Georgia Tech.

Best / Worse Case Record for :

Louisville Virginia | Miami | Duke | Boston College | Pittsburgh | Florida State | Virginia Tech | NC State | Clemson |Syracuse | North Carolina | Wake Forest

Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech quietly had a very solid 2016 season. The Yellow Jackets won 6 of their final 7 games to finish 9-4 in season that saw them win at Virginia Tech, and Georgia. There was also a bowl win over Kentucky. The criminally underrated Justin Thomas is gone at QB, but the Yellow Jackets may have the pieces in place to contend in the ACC Coastal.

Will Go 10-2 (6-2) if:
A semblance of a passing attack emerges on offense. Justin Thomas had the ability to make throws particularly late in games that stretched defenses and made the Triple Option extremely difficult to defend. New QB Matthew Jordan has to be able to keep defenses honest. If Dedrick Mills has the season many expect, he could be the Jackets best RB since Jonathan Dwyer – maybe better. The pass rush has to take a step forward this year. Georgia Tech has struggled getting pressure on opposing QBs.

A win in the opening game against Tennessee could set the wheels in motion for a big season.

Will Go 6-6 (4-4) if:
The schedules overwhelms the Jackets. Georgia Tech can beat any team on their schedule, but they face a lot of quality opponents. Tennessee, Miami, Clemson, Virginia Tech and Georgia are all games the Jackets could be an underdog in. What if Matthew Jordan has trouble in the passing game – then the triple option becomes far easier to defend. The defensive line is annual concern for Georgia Tech, and this year is no different. Good offensive lines may overpower that D-Line, and that could lead to some long games.
