Articles from around the ACC Blogosphere 5/11/15

We are getting to that time of the year, when the College Football previews are starting to trickle in. Football is still months away but the talk is starting to build.

What do the ACC bloggers have for us this week?

Florida State blog Tomahawknation says the Seminoles could be leading for Notre Dame transfer QB Everett Golson.  Now that’s interesting. Golson is a turnover machine, but under the tutelage of Jimbo Fisher who turns out first round NFL QB’s like clock work, Golson could blossom into an elite QB.

ACCPrescription is starting the ACC game previews by asking can Virginia Tech beat Ohio State, and gives several reasons why the Hokies have a shot in this game. Virginia Tech has NFL talent at every level of that defense. Just like the game in Columbus, if the Hokies can effectively run the ball they can certainly win. They ran for 125 last year, and if they match or beat that number in September, they’ll beat the Buckeyes.

Here’s a neat article from Syracuse blog NunesMagican, on what it meant for the author to be Syracuse mascot Otto the Orange.

Virginia blog StreakingtheLawn is already ready for basketball season, where the Cavaliers have become a top 10 fixture. Even without Justin Anderson Virginia looks to be a top 10 team again next season. StreakingtheLawn checks out at the various early pre-season rankings for the Hoos.

We take take look back at the NFL draft with Georgia Tech. Yellow Jacket blog FromtheRumbleSeat talks about how Georgia Tech’s 3 NFL picks Shaq Mason, DeAndre Smelter, and Darren Waller fit in with their teams. I always find Georgia Tech picks particularly on offense intriguing, because the critics are so quick to write off the NFL future of players coming out of the triple option. An offensive lineman in Mason, and WR’s Smelter and Waller prove otherwise.

Pittsburgh CardiacHills writes about new head football coach Pat Narduzzi’s aggressive approach to recruiting.  I’m telling you Pitt is a sleeping giant that has the potential to be a consistent 9+ win top 25 program under the right circumstances and coach. Narduzzi could be that guy.
