It’s been awhile since there’s been this much activity for ACC Football in the 3rd week of October. Normally we are starting to turn to basketball. Not so this year with Florida State in the middle of the national title chase, and Miami receiving their sanctions from NCAA today. How do the ACC bloggers feel about these and other ACC topics out there?

Miami2

Let’s start with Tomahawknation. They take a look at the effect of Florida State’s big win on both FSU and Clemson.  The thing is I don’t disagree with much. Florida State has a ceiling only handful of other schools in the country can reach. Clemson is a very good program, but like a South Carolina or Georgia in the SEC they are going to have a very hard time reaching the level of consistent of success that a LSU or Alabama can get. That said the Tigers have done some great things the last 2-3 years, and that just gives more credibility to what the Seminoles did Saturday night.

ShakintheSouthland calls it rebound week for Clemson.  They folks there admit that the WR’s of Clemson played awful. Tajh Boyd played poorly, but his receivers were at least as bad if not worse.

Miami’s wait is over. Hurricane blog StateoftheU is relieved the punishment from the NCAA wasn’t so severe, and now the Miami can move forward. I think the Canes should be feeling good about only losing 9 scholarships, but lets not act like they got off scott free. They went 2 years with a self imposed post season. That included an ACC Title game. In effect they missed 3 post-season games, and they had to recruit with the cloud of the NCAA investigation over their heads for 3 years.  The sky is the limit for the Canes program now.

GobblerCountry analyzes Virginia Tech’s position in the rankings.  They chose LSU as a comparison point. Good Piece.

We’ve covered the improved ACC Football recruiting here this year. How is it going right now? ACCPerscription has the current rankings.  This is where it starts when it comes to building football programs. Just a hint… things are going very well across the ACC.

Very quietly Wake Forest has been improving this season. Wake Forest blog BloggersSoDear couldn’t be happier.   How guys like Jim Grobe and David Cutcliffe continue to keep their teams competitive is a testament to how good those two coaches really are.
