Will's World: Two Games Does Not Make A Season

I get a kick out of reading twitter and message boards to see reactions from fans when a team loses. The overreaction over the littlest things can be quite humorous. But saying your season is over two games in to a season is the most ridiculous thought ever, especially during a basketball season that is over 30 games long. To these teams, I stress patience:

Boston College-I know you are 0-2, losing in overtime to Providence, and to UMass, and are currently the only team in the ACC without a win, but there are still plenty of opportunities to get quality wins to add to the resume come March, if you play well enough to be on the bubble. Aside from the usual conference foes, there is still Connecticut and VCU on the schedule. But to have a shot of playing later in March, the Eagles need to work on rebounding. The Eagles are the second worst rebounding team in the country. If they can work on that, and considering how well they have scored, they will be in much better shape.

Duke-This isn't as much about how the season is over after losing to Kansas, but the idea floated out there that the new rules on defense are going to drastically change the way Duke plays defense. I don't buy it. You don't think one of the greatest coaches of all time could make an adjustment to rules? Duke will be fine.

Virginia-After losing to VCU, you would have thought the Cavs had just lost the national championship game. They lost to a team ranked 10 spots higher than them by three points. They are basically two evenly matched teams. Virginia easily could have won that game had they hit their free throws. I know the team has struggled to hit their free throws so far, but again, there is still a ton of time to fix this problem. Things will be fine in Charlottesville. Trust me.
