Will the ACC have better potential prime-time football matchups than the Big 10 in 2016?

Recently ESPN released the 7 Big 10 games that will appear in prime-time on their family of channels of ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2. How does the ACC schedule stack up?

Sat, Oct. 8 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. No. 3 Michigan at Rutgers

new-new-acc-logoUm yeah this is a dud of a game for the Big 10. There are at least 3 ACC games that day are better than this one. Michigan should be good, but Rutgers is a mess of a program. FSU vs Miami, Notre Dame vs NC State, and Virginia Tech vs UNC. FSU vs Miami will likely get the ACC top billing. Mark Richt’s first Miami vs FSU game? – That’s ABC

Advantage – ACC

Sat, Oct. 15 8 p.m. No. 10 Ohio State at Wisconsin

Clemson vs NC State or Miami vs UNC could end up on primetime, but those on the surface don’t seem like stronger games than the Big 10′s offering.

Advantage – Big 10

Sat, Oct. 22 8 p.m. No. 10 Ohio State at Penn State

Thin schedule for the ACC, this Saturday. I don’t see any ACC Games on prime-time this week.

Advantage – Big 10

Sat, Oct. 29 5:30 p.m. Northwestern at No. 10 Ohio State
  7 p.m. Nebraska at Wisconsin

Just get out of the way Big 10 for Clemson vs Florida State. Considering the gametimes already set for the Big 10, ESPN already has Clemson vs FSU for 8 PM. Miami vs Notre Dame could be prime time, but since the game is at Notre Dame I doubt NBC puts it up against Clemson vs FSU.

Advantage – ACC

Sat, Nov. 5 8 p.m. Nebraska at No. 10 Ohio State

Florida State vs NC State is a possibility  this night in a similar type game. At this point, some another ACC teams would have to step up to create a more intriguing game.

Advantage – Tie

Sat, Nov. 12 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. No.3 Michigan at No. 17 Iowa

Pittsburgh vs Clemson could warrant prime-time consideration here, if the Panthers who have the potential to be solid are having a strong season. Georgia Tech vs Virginia Tech has been a strong ACC game in the past, but the Yellow Jackets are coming off a 3-9 year, and the Hokies are breaking in a new coach.

Advantage – Tie

So looking across the schedule, I’d say the ACC has clearly 2 better Saturday prime-time affairs. 2 are about even, and 2 favor the Big 10.
