The Wake Forest Demon Deacons went on the road and stunned the #14 Virginia Cavaliers, 16-9. The only touchdown in the game came from Wake Forest's Carlos Hernandez on an 88-yard punt return. The Wake Forest defense had two sacks, four tackles for loss, recovered two of three forced fumbles, and had an interception. Running back Demond Claiborne ran for 75 yards on 25 carries. Virginia quarterback Chandler Morris left the game in the first half due to injury and did not return. His replacement, Daniel Kaelin, completed 18 of 28 passes for 145 yards.
