In a defensive battle that went to overtime, the Virginia Cavaliers defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels 16-17. Virginia scored first in overtime thanks to a J'Mari Taylor touchdown run. North Carolina was able to answer with Davion Gause catching a 9-yard touchdown pass from Gio Lopez. The Heels opted to go for two and the win, where they came up just short. Cavs QB Chandler Morris was 20-35 for 200 yards and a touchdown. For Carolina, Gio Lopez completed 23 passes for 208 yards.
