This is the first game North Carolina has surpassed 20 points against an FBS opponent. Running back Demon June had 182 all-purpose yards with both a rushing and receiving touchdown. Quarterback Gio Lopez completed 15-19 passing for 216 yards with two touchdowns, plus he had 30 rushing yards. True-Freshman Joseph Filardi made his first career start for Syracuse. Filardi is a scholarship lacrosse player and a walk-on football player. He completed 4 of 18 passes for 39 yards.
