Class of 2018 recruit Rechon Black sets his official visit with the Tar Heels.

Guard Rechon Black was the first player to commit to the University of North Carolina’s 2018 recruiting class.

Black announced his commitment in January of 2016, giving the Tar Heels an early start on their future class.

Months later he was joined by fellow guard Coby White who announced in July of 2016.

While both are hard commitments to the Tar Heels, they are still taking at least an official visit to the school.

Black announced via Twitter that his official visit to UNC will be coming in October.

As you can see, Black will be one of the recruits attending the annual “Late Night With Roy” event on October 13th.

The annual event features the men’s and women’s basketball team as well as the volleyball team, serving as the unofficial start to the 2017-18 college basketball season for the Tar Heels.

Black is already committed to UNC and has taken several unofficial visits, most recently for the Tar Heels football game against Louisville a week ago.

The guard will be joined be at least one other big recruit as Romeo Langford will also be in attendance.

Langford is ranked as a top 5 player in the 2018 class and recently announced his visit plans. He’s been on the Tar Heels radar for a while now and landing him would be a big boost to the Tar Heels 2018 class.

Other recruits will likely be in attendance for the event so check back with Keeping It Heel to stay updated on the latest recruiting news.
