Saturday Upset Watches: Are Michigan and Texas in Trouble?

Saturday’s slate is loaded, and the moneylines are not lining up with what our simulations keep spitting out. We ran the numbers on the big games involving the teams our model already likes most this season, and a handful of favorites look a lot softer than the books are pricing them.

Here are the upset watches worth circling before kickoff.

Texas A&M at LSU

This is the loudest disagreement on the board. Sportsbooks have LSU as a clear home favorite at -360 (A&M +285), laying about 9.5 points. Our sims do not buy it.

Across 240 simulations, Texas A&M wins 76.7% of the time and averages a 35.0 to 25.4 score. That is not a push. That is the model telling you the Aggies are the better side in Death Valley on Saturday night. If you only dig into one A&M at LSU prediction this weekend, make it this one.

Iowa at Michigan

Ann Arbor usually means a Michigan lean, and the market agrees at -198 with the Wolverines laying 4.5. GameSim sees a coin flip that tilts the other way.

Iowa wins 54.7% of our 380 sims, with a projected score of Iowa 23.9, Michigan 23.4. It is ugly, low scoring football (total sits at 37.5), which is exactly when Iowa tends to hang around. The Hawkeyes as a road plus-money dog are the cleaner play on paper. Full breakdown: Iowa at Michigan prediction.

Texas at Tennessee

Noon kick in Knoxville, and the books still make Texas the favorite at -185. Our model flips it.

Tennessee takes 59.2% of 380 simulations and projects to win 31.2 to 28.1. That is a real edge on a home underdog sitting around +154 with a +4 spread. Neyland is loud for a reason, and GameSim thinks the Volunteers can spoil the Longhorns’ afternoon. See the Texas at Tennessee prediction for the full sim dump.

TCU at UCF

Quietly one of the better spots on the card. TCU is the moneyline favorite at -162, with UCF getting 3 at home and priced around +136. The sims prefer the Knights.

UCF wins 57.4% of 380 runs and averages 28.9 to 26.0. When a home dog that our model already rates highly sits plus money, that is an upset watch by definition. Peek at the TCU at UCF prediction before you fade the favorite.

South Carolina at Alabama

Alabama is still the favorite in our sims (64.4%), so this is not a full flip. It is a gap play. The Tide are -535 on the moneyline and laying 13.5. That price is steep.

South Carolina wins 35.6% of our 320 simulations with a projected score of Alabama 37.4, South Carolina 31.9. The market has the Gamecocks closer to a 20% shot at +400. That gap between sim win rate and implied odds is the upset watch. Full look: South Carolina at Alabama prediction.

Bonus: Oklahoma at Georgia

Georgia is heavily favored both ways (-625, -14), and our sims still give the Dawgs about 77% of the outcomes at a 30.8 to 23.8 projection. Oklahoma does run a little hotter in the sims than a +455 dog usually should, so if you are shopping longshots, the Sooners are the interesting side, not the chalk.
