North Carolina head coach Roy Williams finally chimed in on the P.J. Hairston arrest.

From USA Today:

“We are doing one thing: We are waiting until all the information comes out,” Williams told USA TODAY Sports on Monday. “The good thing is, I don’t have to make a decision right now because we’re in summer school, fall semester has not started, basketball has not started. We’re going to wait and see what happens. I’ve got some ideas, but right now those ideas are staying in my mind.

“I am waiting until all the facts come in and then I will take care of everything that needs to be taken care of.”

Obviously, Roy is right. You have to take your time on this. More often than not, the final conclusion is different than the original reports. However, we do know that Hairston was absent from a recent alumni game, so there’s that.

Now in case you’ve forgotten, Hairston and two passengers were arrested and charged with drug possession. Hairston was also charged with driving without a license. On top of that, a loaded weapon was found outside the car. So far, no charges have been filed for the gun as cops are still trying to determine who the gun belong to.

However, another question I think the Carolina coaching staff has to asked is, how did Hairston rent the GMC Yukon?

We know Hairston was the driver, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he was the one who rented the car.

According to The Big Lead, who did some nice digging, the car most likely belong to Hertz and after a little homework, determined that yes, a 20-year-old like Hairston can rent a Hertz car, but no one in the car had rented that particular car.

So who did?
