It is time to look at the ACC’s top returning Wide Receivers.

FordPrevious and Upcoming Rankings

Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Offensive Linemen | Tight Ends | Defensive Linemen |Linebackers | Cornerbacks | Safeties | Special Teams

1) Isaiah Ford, Virginia Tech

All Isaiah Ford did last year with a mediocre offense and inconsistent QB was catch 75 balls for 1,164 yards and 11 TDs. What kind of stats is the All-ACC player going to put up once new coach Justin Fuente gets hold of the offense? Ford is 6-2 WR who is a large target, quick, and has good hands. Virginia Tech might have the best WR/TE tandem in the ACC. You’ll see when we discuss the Tight End position.

2) Travis Rudolph, Florida State

Travis Rudolph was rated by some recruiting services as the #1 WR in the class of 2014. He is starting to live up to that hype, and last year he caught 59 balls for 900 yards and 7 TDs. Rudolph is filled with talent, he only lacks a bit of consistency. FSU had some QB issues last year that didn’t probably help.

3) Artavis Scott, Clemson

Artavis Scott is part of the WR core at Clemson that is the ACC’s most talented. Scott is coming off a season that saw him catch 93 passes to lead the ACC in 2015. Scott and his game-breaking speed are just starting to touch the surface of his potential.

4) Mike Williams, Clemson

I always hesitate to put players that have missed entire season too high on a position ranking list. You just don’t know how they will respond following an injury. Mike Williams is one of those type players. After injuring his neck last year in game 1, Williams is back for the Clemson Tigers this year. If he returns to his 2014 form, he’ll challenge Isaiah Ford for the top spot on this list. In 2014, he had over 1000 yards receiving and at 6-4, 220 lbs – NFL scouts love his size.

5) Jamari Staples, Louisville

Louisville’s Jamari Staples could be headed towards a breakout season. Last year the UAB transfer had 37 receptions for 638 yards while missing the first 4 games of the year. He also had to deal with a mixture of starting QBs. Now that Lamar Jackson is firmly entrenched as the starter, the 6-4 receiver could have monster year. There’s a good chance you’ll see Staples playing on Sundays in the future.
