It’s time to look at the ACC’s top wide receivers.

Previous and Upcoming Rankings

Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Offensive Linemen | Tight Ends | Defensive Linemen | Linebackers | Cornerbacks | Safeties | Special Teams

1) Tyler Boyd, Pittsburgh

Tyler Boyd at WR and James Conner at RB form the best WR-RB in the COUNTRY. Boyd is a consensus 1st-team pre-season All-America, coming off a fantastic 2014 season. Last year Boyd had 1,261 yards receiving on 78 catches. Boyd has great hands, and at 6’2″ he has good size. He runs a sub 4.5 40, and is projected as the top WR in the 2016 draft. He’s a certain 1st round round pick.

2) Mike Williams, Clemson

Mike Williams is coming of 1,030 yard receiving season at Clemson, and I think he is just starting to touch the surface of his potential. Williams is big at 6’4″ 210 lbs. He averaged 18 yards a reception, proving his ability as a long ball threat. He may end up being a 2nd or 3rd round NFL pick if he comes out as a Jr with a chance of going in the 1st round.

3) Artavis Scott, Clemson

Clemson has the best group of receivers in the ACC. Artavis Scott caught 76 passes last year for 965 yards and 8 TDs. He’s fluid receiver that can score anytime he touches the ball. Like Williams, he’s only beginning to reach his potential. This was all done as a freshman, as he made several freshman All-American teams. What’s he going to do for an encore?

4) Travis Rudolph, Florida State

Here’s my breakout WR for 2015, Travis Rudolph of Florida State. As a freshman last year, Rudolph had 555 yards receiving on 38 catches. With Rashad Greene and Nick O’Leary gone, I’m expecting Rudolph to be the Noles top pass catcher. Along with talented fellow sophomore Ermon Lane, the Noles could push Clemson as the top WR unit in the ACC. The 6’2″ WR made several freshman All-American teams.

5) Ryan Switzer, North Carolina

Ryan Switzer is one of the most versatile players in the ACC. He can return punts, and last year he was North Carolina’s leading receiver with 61 receptions and 757 yards. Switzer last season was a third-team All-ACC player at WR. He is is athletic, quick, and causes problems for defenses all across the ACC.
