Well here we go. It’s time to start ranking the best players in the ACC for the 2019 season. As usual we hope you enjoy the rankings.

Previous and Upcoming Rankings

Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Wide Receivers | Offensive Linemen |
Tight Ends | Linebackers | Cornerbacks | Safeties | Special Teams

1) Xavier Thomas, Clemson

In recent years, Clemson has been loaded with NFL caliber Defensive Ends. Sophomore Xavier Thomas, could be the best of the bunch. USAToday called Thomas one of the 10 best Defensive Linemen for the 2019 season.  He’s been all over the pre-season All-America list. Off the edge, he’s simply explosive.

2) Alton Robinson, Syracuse

Alton Robinson gives Syracuse opponents a pass rushing headache. He was a 2nd team All-ACC pick last year, and barring injury looks like a 1st teamer this year. He has 15 sacks and 23 tackles for loss in 24 games played.

3) Marvin Wilson, Florida State

We’ve seen several Florida State players dot our top 5 position ranking lists. Despite last year’s struggles, there is talent on this team. Marvin Wilson is one of the best Defensive Linemen in the ACC. He had 42 tackles and 3.5 sacks last season, and looks ready to have a breakout junior season.

4) Jonathan Garvin, Miami

Miami has been really good on defense the last few years. A big part of that is DE Jonathan Garvin. Last season Garvin had 17 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. He’s going into his junior season, and I expect him to be even better in 2019. He’s is considered one of the top 15 draftable DEs for next year.

5) Jason Strowbridge, North Carolina

Jason Strowbridge is coming off an honorable-mention All-ACC 2018. He had 36 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 7.5 tackles for loss last season. He also blocked a kick too. He’s considered a 4th – 7th round NFL pick. A good season could see his NFL stock rise even higher.
