Pitt among ACC Coastal Division favorites, per Vegas

Every year, it seems Pitt is favored by someone to contend to win their Division. This year, Vegas is in on it.

Bovada has Pitt as early 3:1 favorites to win the ACC Coastal Division. In terms of the rest of the teams, that's good for the second best odds with the Panthers finishing behind only 3:2 favorite Miami. Pitt is actually in a tie for second with the Virginia Tech Hokies also at 3:1.

But just because the Panthers are that high up in the Coastal doesn't mean they rank all that high in terms of winning the entire ACC. There, Pitt is only in a tie for sixth at 14:1 odds to win the conference, sitting behind leader Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Louisville, and North Carolina (also tied with Virginia Tech).

What is of course a little odd about that scenario is that Coastal foe North Carolina is ahead of Pitt when it comes to being favored to win the ACC (10:1) but slightly behind the Panthers in odds to win the Coastal (17:4). In other words, Vegas thinks if the Tar Heels get to the ACC title game they would seemingly have a better chance to win than would the Panthers.

Gotta love early projections.
