Pittsburgh Panther guard James Robinson is back on the Men’s Under-19 National Team Roster after Syracuse big man Jerami Grant left the team after he was diagnosed with monomucleosis (mono, baby!).

This will be Robinson’s third time on the USA National Team. Last summer he helped lead the Americans to a FIBA Americas Under-18 championship. He only scored 4.4 points in a little more than 15 minutes of action per game, but he did lead the team in assist-to-turnover ratio.

As a freshmen for Pitt, Robinson started 32 games, playing primarily off the ball. He averaged 6.1 points and 3.5 assists.

His reputation is as a pass-first point guard, who knows how to run an offense and rarely makes mistakes, but could use some work on his jumper and three-point shooting.

The World Championships begins Thursday, June 27 when the United States takes on the Ivory Coast. The championship game will be played Sunday, June 7.
