There’s not long to wait now for one of the largest and most exciting sports event finals in the country. March Madness has been played annually since its inception in 1939, and it’s just as popular today as it has always been. The full NCAA tournament bracket for 2020, including all teams and seeds, will be announced by the selection committee on Selection Sunday, on March 15. That means there’s still time to place futures bets. Read on to find out how the odds for different teams currently stand.

A Look at the Odds

According to oddsmakers, there is no clear-cut favorite to win this season’s NCAA college basketball tournament. The odds for the Duke Blue Devils and the Gonzaga Bulldogs are presently +1,000, so they are both equal favorites to become the last team standing. Both teams are ranked in the top ten of the AP rankings and are a combined 35-4 SU this year. Other notable teams with the best odds are:

·        Louisville Cardinals: +1,100.

·        Kansas Jayhawks: +1,200.

·        Michigan State Spartans: +1,600.

Nine teams have odds under +2,000, and no teams have less than +1,000, so even underdogs in the competition stand a chance. With such close odds between teams, it’s a fantastic time for futures bettors to make wagers.

There are plenty of online betting sites you can use to place your bets. And if you are itching for March Madness to come around, you could always fill the time by playing games like the Basketball Star slot game while you’re online. A Look at the Favorites

With eight combined wins and only four losses between them, the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Duke Blue Devils are beginning this season where they left off last year. Both teams may have been ousted in the Elite Eight last year, but they have regrouped to be in prime position to become the number one seeds for this year’s March Madness. Looking at the statistics for individual player performance, Duke has better overall talent than the Bulldogs. But they are banking on freshmen to help them win the national title, which is a frightening proposition for any NCAA basketball team.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga continues to be one of the most outstanding teams in the tournament. The squad contains six players who score in double figures, and the Bulldogs rank first in points per game, as well as shooting more than 56% from the floor. The Bulldogs will have to win six games in a row to become champions, though. Whether they can pull that off remains to be seen, but the oddsmakers are certainly confident in the team.

A Look at the Other Best Teams

Two noteworthy teams that are worth monitoring are the Oregon Ducks and the Baylor Bears. The odds for Oregon Ducks are +1,800. They get a little forgotten playing in the Pac-12, but the Ducks are 15-4 SU in 19 games and have had some impressive wins against Seton Hall, Arizona, Memphis, and Michigan. They even only lost to the mighty Gonzaga by one point. And the Ducks very nearly beat champions Virginia in last year’s Sweet 16.

The Baylor Bears might not have the best win-loss resume in the NCAA. But they have won five ranked games this season, and only lost one, making them the current number one ranking team, despite them not having won the national championship before. They are 15-1 SU and +1,400, according to bookmakers. They’re proving to be strong contenders at the Big 12 Conference. They have already beaten the Jayhawks by 12 points at Allen Fieldhouse versus Kansas. The Bears rank fifth in points allowed per game and own a +14.2 point-differential throughout 17 games.

Unlike other years, this season is wide open for who could win. If you cannot decide on who to bet on yet, it may be worth your while holding off for a while to see the tournament seedings before you place your bet.
