Former Washington St. QB Tyler Bruggman Transferring To Louisville

Tyler Bruggman, a former four-star recruit who spent the past season at Washington State, will transfer to Louisville and play for Bobby Petrino. Mike Hughes of InsidetheVille.com was the first to report the news.

After a bizarre string of events on national signing day 2013 (thanks mostly to a strong, late push from Arizona State), Bruggman became one of the highest-profile recruits to sign with the Cougars during the Mike Leach era. He redshirted last season, and was expected to compete for the backup position this fall while maintaining the title of Wazzou's quarterback of the future.

It's an interesting move in that Bruggman is leaving a program with a very thin situation at quarterback for one where he will become the ninth signal caller on the roster. That said, I don't think Bobby Petrino would take him if he didn't think he could play, and I don't think Bruggman would come here if he didn't think he could earn playing time.

As a senior at Brophy College Preparatory (Ariz.), Bruggman threw for 2,803 yards and was named the Arizona Republic Phoenix Metro Player of the Year. He also achieved a 4.2 GPA at the Jesuit high school known for its rigorous academic standards.

Bruggman will have three years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2014 season.

We're coming for all of your quarterbacks, rest of the country. All of them.
