He announce on social media, saying:

“First off I would like to thank God for blessing with the ability to play the game I love, I’d also like to thank my family and friends for always supporting me thoughout this process.  Nest I would like to thank all of the coaches and schools that gave me a chance to play football at their University.  The recruiting process has been a long and exciting journey, something that I’ll remember for a lifetime.  Now I’ve chosen where I will be spending the next 3-4 years of my life…. Now I would like to officially announce that I will be committing to THE Florida State University.”

Samuels is the first cornerback to commit to the Seminoles for 2017 and is currently the highest ranked prospect in the class so far.

Later that day, the Seminoles received even bigger news in a defensive tackle for their 2018 class.  Robert Cooper is a 6-foot-2, 362-pound defensive tackle form South Gwinnett High School in Georgia and is the fourth commitment for 2018.  He is the second this week as well, joining Isaiah Bolden and the first on the defensive line.

He announced on social media saying:

“I want to thank all the coaches who have recruited me and gave me a chance and a opportunity to continue my football career.  I also want to thank my family for supporting me and my decision.  After the discussions with my family, I have decided to close down my recruitment, and commit to Florida State University.  I feel like it’s the best fit for me as a student and an athlete.”

Cooper made several visits to Florida State.
