Louisville showed little fight against a DePaul team that entered the day as one of two power conference teams ranked lower than the Cards on Ken Pom, falling to the previously 1-7 Blue Demons 75-68.

U of L trailed for nearly the entirety of the game, and by as many as 19 in the second half.

This was no fluke. A DePaul team with losses to Purdue Fort Wayne, San Francisco and Long Beach State, and which had lost its last three games by an average of 22.3 ppg simply looked superior to Louisville for a full 40 minutes on Saturday afternoon.

That tells you all you need to know about the current state of the Cardinal basketball program.

The loss was Louisville’s first on the road to DePaul since 2003, and its 21st consecutive road loss overall. The Cards haven’t beaten an opponent on their hone floor since Jan. 2, 2022 at Georgia Tech.

There’s nothing else I can say here that I haven’t already said a hundred times at this point.

This is all an embarrassing waste of time.
