Wake Forest took down the 12-seeded Hokies, 95-89 in overtime in the first round of the ACC Tournament. Seven of the eight Wake Forest players who played in the game scored at least 10 points. Wake Forest shot 50.8% from the field while holding Virginia Tech to 41.8% shooting. Myles Colvin led Wake Forest with 18 points and six rebounds. Sebastian Akins scored 14 points, including an important and-1 with 57 seconds left in overtime. Akins also had four rebounds and three assists. Tre'Von Spillers and Mekhi Mason each had 13 points. For Virginia Tech, Ben Hammond scored a game-high 23 points. Jailen Bedford had 17 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
