The Duke defense held St. John's All-American candidate, Shamorie Ponds, to just 11 points on 3-11 shooting. Duke freshman Zion Williamson led 5 players in double figures with 29 points. Zion also had 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 blocks. Duke's other top freshmen also performed well, with Cam Reddish adding 16 points and RJ Barrett scored 15.
