In two overtimes, the No. 17 Cavaliers defeated the Fighting Irish, 100-97. Virginia's Sam Lewis hit the game-tying three-pointer with 3 seconds left in the first overtime to keep the Cavaliers alive, and then he hit a jumper with 16 seconds left in the second overtime to all put seal the victory. Lewis scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half and overtime. Thijs De Ridder was UVA's leading scorer with 32 points on 9-20 shooting, to go with eight rebounds and three assists. Chance Mallory added 17 points. Cole Certa scored a career-high 34 points for Notre Dame. Certa made five three-pointers in the game. Jalen Haralson added 20 points, and Braeden Shrewsberry scored 18 points, with 15 coming in the game's opening 12 minutes.
