The no.15 Cavaliers escaped with their basketball lives as they needed some late-game heroics to get a close 61-58 victory over FSU. UVA's Thijs De Ridder came through in the clutch with a tough layup in traffic with :26 to go to pad the lead for good after a big dunk by Jacari White to put them up one. They also held the Seminoles scoreless for the last 4:54 seconds. UVA got the victory despite shooting only 38% from the field, but they held the 'Noles to 29% shooting. UVA won the battle of the boards 47-37, and their bench saved the day with a 32-10 advantage on the evening. Jacari White was the only UVA player to reach double figures with 19 points. Lajae Jones paced FSU with 21 points.
